Open Up to Cans

Why is aluminum used for cans? When it comes to a superior beverage package, aluminum cans lead the way in the attributes that matter to consumers and brand owners – including taste, branding, product protection, performance and sustainability.

The Can Manufacturers Institute (CMI) developed the “Open Up to Cans” campaign based on consumer and industry research that demonstrates the positive attributes and benefits of the aluminum beverage package. The campaign is supported by various research reports commissioned by CMI between 2012 and 2015.
